Aphrodite and Ares : Aphrodite was married to Hephaestus, a lame smiths god, by the force of Zeus.  Aphrodite didn't love Hephaestus and they never had children.  Aphrodite had mulitple other lovers with gods and mortals.  One of the most well known affairs is that of Ares.  Ares was the handsome god of war and warriors. Aphrodite and Ares were together whenever Hephaestus was away.  When Hephaestus found out that he was being cheated on, he set a metal net to trap the two lovers.  They were displayed to the rest of the gods to show the unfaithfulness of Aphrodite and Ares. [9]
