Aphrodite (Venus)

Birth : It is said that Aphrodite was born as the daughter of Zeus and Dione. She was made from the aphros (foam) and became a goddess. It is also said that she came from the sea fully grown, being the creation of Uranus.
Taking Charge : Aphrodite is the known to be the Goddess of many things. She is the Goddess of love, desire, beauty, and fertility.

Aphrodite and Ares : Aphrodite was married to Hephaestus, a lame smiths god, by the force of Zeus. Aphrodite didn't love Hephaestus and they never had children. Aphrodite had mulitple other lovers with gods and mortals. One of the most well known affairs is that of Ares. Ares was the handsome god of war and warriors. Aphrodite and Ares were together whenever Hephaestus was away. When Hephaestus found out that he was being cheated on, he set a metal net to trap the two lovers. They were displayed to the rest of the gods to show the unfaithfulness of Aphrodite and Ares.
Life Story : Aphrodite is the Greek Goddess of love and desire. She is said to be the daughter of Zeus and Dione, rising from the foam of the seas. All men give in to her beauty and seductiveness. She was unhappily married to lame Hephaestus. Since she was not happy with him, she had many love affairs with gods and mortals. She had many children with all these men. Eros, the god of love, is the better known son of Aphrodite. Another name for Eros, is Cupid. Other children that Aphrodite had are, Aeneas, Deimos, Phobus, Harmonia, Hermaphroditus, and Astynous.
