Poseidon

Poseidon was the Greek god of the sea. He was known for his big storms and even bigger earthquakes. In some litureature and poetry he is known as the "Earth Shaker." Poseidon was the brother of Zeus and Hade. He is alson the son of Cronos and Rhea which were one of the first to inhabit the Earth.  Poseidon's wife was a sea godess named Amphitrite.Poeison was also said to be on of the offical gods of Mt. Olympus even though he lived in the sea. When earth was created olympians agreed that the land would be ruled by Zeus, the dead by Hades, and the water by Poseidon. Poseidon was the creater of all sea creatures according to some myths.[1]

In many works of art Poseidon is featured with a trident and a fish like tail. Sometimes a dophine was pictured with him as his animal. In the beginning of time Poseidon was just the god of water but then later on he became known as the god of the sea. He was also considered to be the god of the horses because Greeks citizens would sacrifice horses to him. They would then sink them to the bottom of the ocean to Poseidon as an offering for him.[2]  [3]

Poseidon was known to have a temper and agression problems. He was the god of earthquakes which shook the world whenever he was angery. Some people considered him to be unpredictable and moody. As time went on he became more known for his temper and earthquakes. Most people only knew him as an angery god,but he was also considered to be a lover. He had many affairs with a few different women, such as Medusa and Demeter.[4]
